Kasia Schaefer, DPT

Clinic Director

Kasia graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Northwestern University in Chicago in the spring of 2015. She also has a BS in Physiology. She is a more recent addition to the northwest spending most of her growing years in Southern Illinois. Prior to working at Timberline, she worked as a traveling physical therapist in a variety of settings and brings that varied experience into the clinic to treat a person as a whole. Currently, she is studying to receive her certification in hand therapy to add to her other experiences in orthopedic care. When not in the clinic, she enjoys the variety of outdoor opportunities the northwest offers for her and her dog. She will also spend time puttering around her garden or catching up on recent movies. She is excited to be part of the Timberline team to help them and her patients grow.

Zane Smith

Zane Smith, PT, MPT, OCS


Zane is a native of the northwest and grew up in east Portland. He graduated from Eastern Washington University in 2003 with a Masters in Physical Therapy. He also has a BS in Human Biology. Zane believes that regardless of where the patient receives PT it must be comprehensive; encompassing not only tools to treat inflammation and pain, soft tissue dysfunction, muscle imbalances and specific weakness as well as overall functional limitations, but also enhancing the patients ability to treat themselves and continue to thrive on an independent basis. In addition to treating orthopedic conditions his other professional interests include the management of chronic headaches to include migraines as well as other chronic pain conditions. When not in the clinic Zane loves to spend time with his wife Leslie and their two children Zoe and Gage, at home in Washington. They enjoy snow skiing, fishing, camping and other outdoor activities. Zane and Leslie are heavily involved in their community and promoting a healthy lifestyle.

Jennifer Wright

Jennifer Wright, CPT

Physical Therapist Assistant

Jennifer Wright has been a PT for almost 5 years. She is originally from the Northwest, but spent 12 years in southern Illinois. She went to PTA school at Kaskaskia College and moved back to the Northwest in 2016. Her husband Gary and she have three Boston Terriers and currently live in Vancouver. They spend most of their time on their boat, fishing, camping, hiking, and enjoying the great outdoors. She really enjoys being a PTA and helping people heal from their injuries so they may return to the activities they love.

Lori has been a therapist for over 20 years graduating from Professional Skills Institute in Santa Barbara, CA and also has a Bachelors in Health Promotion Wellness from the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point. She has worked in areas of Acute Care, Rehabilitation, Home Health and Skilled Nursing. A Wisconsin native, she has been residing in Vancouver, WA for over 18 years with her husband and two teenage boys. Lori enjoys assisting her patients in decreasing pain, facilitating their recovery from surgery and achieving their specific goals. Lori believes health prevention is the biggest key in leading a healthy lifestyle. When she is not attending her boys various sporting events or scout adventures, she enjoys what this beautiful state has to offer with hiking, skiing and biking with her family.

Melissa Lovell

Melissa, PTA

Physical Therapist Assistant

Melissa has been working as a PTA since 2006. She went to school at Whatcom Community College in Bellingham, WA graduating with honors and slowly migrated down to the Vancouver area. She has been with Timberline PT since 2011. She has spent most of my career working in the outpatient setting, working with people of all ages and all levels of activity or function.

Her favorite hobbies are working out, gardening, hiking, kayaking, and pretty much anything outdoors, and of course spending time with my family and friends. She considers herself very active playing sports all through high school and then turning her passion for fitness into competing on the national stage as a physique competitor. She firmly believe that the key to a happy healthy life is to stay active no matter what it is you enjoy.

Ismael Garcia

Ismael, PTT

Physical Therapy Technician

Ismael served in the U.S. Navy for 20 years as a Hospital Corpsman and a Physical Therapy Technician. He graduated in 1990 from the Academy of Health Science at Fort Sam Houston, Texas with a diploma in Physical Therapy Specialist Course. He worked at several Physical Therapy Clinics while serving in the Navy to include Naval Hospital Okinawa, Japan, Naval Hospital Guam, Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton, Naval Hospital Bremerton, and Naval Hospital Rota, Spain. After retiring from the Navy in 2007, he went on to work for a DME company as a RTS, fitting patients for wheelchairs, power chairs and scooters. He then started working at Timberline in 2013. One of his multiple jobs here at our clinic is that he specializes in POET testing. He has always enjoyed patient care and loves interacting with the variety of patients that we see here at Timberline. He is also bilingual and helps with our Spanish speaking patients that don’t have interpreters. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife of 18 years and his three boys. He also enjoys running and has coached football for 15 years at different levels to include Pop Warner, flag, and high school.

Susanna Hybl


Front Desk/ Physical Therapy Technician

Susanna has been part of the Timberline team since August 2010 working at the front desk and occasionally as the Physical Therapy tech. She earned her Bachelor’s in Health Science from Linfield College – Portland Campus in 2009. At work she enjoys seeing patients realize their progression and potential in physical therapy. She also enjoys the team work atmosphere from her co-workers. In her spare time, you can find Susanna hanging out with her husband at a live music concert or spending time with friends, family and their dog Leia.

Cassie, Patient Coordinator


Patient Coordinator

Cassie joined Timberline Physical Therapy in July of 2015. As a patient coordinator, she enjoys getting to know our patients as they progress with therapy and move forward toward their goals. She has worked on and off in the medical office field since 2001. Prior to Timberline, Cassie worked with Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapists. Born and raised in the Pacific NW, she loves what the area has to offer for adventures and outings. In her spare time, you can find Cassie enjoying family time, listening to music and being crafty.

Tiffani, Billing Specialist


Billing Specialist

Tiffani had been working in the clinical setting for over 14 years now. She started as a receptionist and worked her way to managing several clinics. She is currently the billing specialist. When she is not working, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids. She also enjoys hiking, camping and fishing.
